C-ITS is now ready for use in Germany

C-ITS Deployment Group is an association of vehicle manufacturers, road infrastructure providers, authorities and federal states, as well as industry and ICT and research partners, which aims to increase road safety and decrease congestions on europe´s motor- and expressways by deploying C-ITS, a technology to enable communication between vehicles and digital road infrastructure. It brings together the most prominent automotive manufacturing companies and interest groups in the traffic and transportation sector.

Since the delegetated regulation 2010/40/EU on C-ITS was not adopted by the European Council and the Permanent Representatives Committee in July 2019, the group still decided to further rollout C-ITS with the existing specifications and technology available.
